Sapuri's Reviews & Comments
Sunset Junction 7/27/2011
So this place, is indeed the center of the scene. It's one of those monumental places you can end up doing quite alright with, even as a scenester, by not knowing everything about. It's a great landmark, and there's a great bookstore right across it too. Used to be great sneaker store right beside it, but given the lack of faith I had in their apparent business model and selection, someone should verify whether it's still there now or not. :)
Zanzibar 7/25/2011
I used to read reviews when I was younger, of 'the club that used to be'. You know the types- youd always read they were legendary in their own nook, in their own day. I guess now that I'm older, I think Zanzibar will always be that place for me. To see Jason Bentley play every Friday night meant he wasn't the busy bee that he's become now. And to pay 10 bucks to walk in, smell the incense and feel the floor thumping? Priceless.
Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall 7/25/2011
A mosque? In the middle of LA? You can imagine how surprised this Pakistani was when he went to offer Friday prayers and found MTV's crews setting up for the VMA's.
