Lincoln Park Athletic Club 4/22/2009
I have been a member of this gym for almost a year now and I love it here. It has one of the most comfortable atmosphere's of any gym I have ever been in, top of the line (and continually being replaced) equipment, great classes and friendly staff. The pilates classes here are especially fantastic- a special thank you to Lisa, Charla, and Whitney- whom I regularly take classes from for kicking me back into shape one hundred at a time. The Hip Hop class with Viola is pretty fun too! The only negative is that some of the classes are too early in the day for those of us with 9-5 jobs to get to but there are plenty of night and weekend classes to take too. All in all a great place to get in shape.

This is a surprisingly fantastic tapas bar in the Logan Square neighborhood. Right across the street from the blue line train station, I stopped in one night on a whim and was happy to find that everything I ordered was superb. Low key atmosphere; high quality of food.
Paddy Long's 4/22/2009
This is a fantastic little neighborhood pub with one of the best beer selections around. There is something for everyone on tap. They regularly have Delirium, Lindemans' Framboise, Guiness and Tetley's and rotate a bunch of seasonal imports on the other taps. And it isn't just the beer that's good- this place has the best Irish brunch around and some of the best pub food I've ever had. The owners are often at the bar chatting up customers and the servers are all quirky and friendly. Tuesday nights is trivia night- an ever popular event that has a regular following that fills the bar up so get there early. Slainte!
Kanok 4/22/2009
This sushi restaurant is ideally located at approximately Addison and Broadway. The sushi is pretty good and comes in great portions. They have specialty rolls like sweet potato maki that I have never seen on a sushi menu before and their Aemono salad has some of the best ginger dressing around. There is also an admirable green tea ice cream available on the desert menu. They accept walk-in’s so it’s a great place to pop by when you have a craving for sushi and are shopping in the neighborhood. On Tuesday nights, there is usually an all you can eat sushi special- call them for details. If you go there in a large group, order the sushi boat- it’s a HUGE amount of sushi.
Zipcar 4/22/2009
I have been a Zipcar member for almost 3 years now and have been extremely satisfied with their service. There is always a car available within a reasonable distance and usually multiple options. I will warn you ahead of time- ALWAYS check the car for damage before you scan your card to activate the reservation. Call and report any damage. And ALWAYS return the car on time. If you are running late, call the 866 number. Zipcar does not like it if you do not follow their rules and it inconveniences the members that do follow the rules. It’s an expense inconvenience too. Zipcar membership includes gas, insurance and the rental rate, along with any special discounts to the affiliates Zipcar is associated with- actually NFT would be a good one as they are both based in a lot of the same cities. Zipcar’s main headquarters are in MA but the address listed is the Chicago office.
